PlatinumTel Wireless, a prepaid wireless service provider, has just announced the launch of the PlatinumTel Everyone Visa Prepaid Card, a pre-funded card allowing cardholders to use their cards at millions of locations where Visa debit cards are accepted. Though the program will be marketed directly to existing PlatinumTel wireless subscribers, it is not limited to PlatinumTel customers and is available to the public.

"Everyone" customers will be able to fund their cards at any of the 45,000 Western Union^® locations nationwide. Users are also able to transfer money to their accounts using PayPal^® and bank wire transfers.

"This was a natural move for us," explained CEO of PlatinumTel Communications, Omar Ahmad. " Initially, we launched our wireless product in an attempt to bridge the gap between prepaid and postpaid wireless in the United States. Fifty million unbanked and unbankable individuals in the United States, which as a segment is fundamentally similar to the one we cater our wireless product to, was a good reason to elevate the prepaid model to encapsulate financial services, in parallel with our wireless offering. We see great opportunities for growth with this new product."

The PlatinumTel Everyone Visa Prepaid Card will be available through submitting an online enrollment form, as well as application forms inside PlatinumTel Wireless Handset packages available at retailers nationwide.
